For Practicioners

Many patients with chronic diseases or unexplained symptoms do not see any improvement in their health even after long-term treatment. These patients often get second opinions from other doctors or look for alternative treatment methods. But no matter what they do, they still don't feel well. These patients are then often diagnosed with a somatic disorder and referred to a psychologist or psychiatrist. This can also prove to be ineffective, since there is often still a suspicion that the symptoms have a physical and not a psychological cause. If the patient's original, undiagnosed underlying disease is not treated, it can happen that other secondary diseases develop from it in the meantime.

Unfortunately, the field of clinical environmental medicine (CEM) is not sufficiently known to either physicians or patients. The CEM field follows a medical approach that aims to treat the causes of diseases and not their symptoms. The causes are mainly determined by a detailed medical history, pathological examinations, microbiome tests, and complex biochemical and genetic tests. In addition, the patient is treated with an individual and personalized therapy regimen. Many patients who have undergone this form of treatment report that the symptoms miraculously disappeared – for example after metal chelation therapy or detoxification therapy.

In summary, CEM aims to identify the stressors that harm the body. These are then eliminated and the body is brought back to a healthy state with the help of a personalized course of therapy.

Our goal is to promote the field of clinical environmental medicine. We aim to achieve this by building a network of professionals available to both patients and all medical staff. For this purpose, we have developed a database – www.environmentally-ill.com – that allows users to find medical professionals specialized in, and licensed for, certain types of treatments depending on the needs of the user.

We are currently working on bringing possible network partners together and creating the catalogue of requirements that these partners must meet in order for their information to be published on the website www.environmentally-ill.com.
